About personal item limits

Most airlines allow one free personal item — a purse, backpack or laptop bag — that must fit under the seat in front of you. On many budget fares, it’s the only free bag, and a full-size carry-on costs extra. Size limits are set by each airline and differ, sometimes by just an inch or two, and some airlines check bags at the gate with a sizer.

We’re designing the Under-Seat Personal Item Bag to be soft and compact so it can squeeze into tight spaces. Even so, always check your airline’s current personal item size limit on its official baggage page before you fly. TripPack doesn’t promise that any bag fits every airline.

Why kits?

TripPack started as a free packing list generator. The kits are built around three problems that come up on most flying trips: carry-on travelers run out of space, liquids slow down the security line, and budget fares often include only one small bag. Each kit solves one of those, and nothing else.
